Welcome to the Thrandeston Village web site
Thrandeston is a small village of two parts – Little Green and Great Green. Perversely, Little Green has many more houses and residents than Great Green.
Although there is no pub, school or shop, Thrandeston does boast a fine country church, St Margaret of Antioch, with a 13th Century chancel and 15th Century tower. There is a very good page about the church here. Details of the church services are on the Village Life page.
We also have a village hall which is used regularly for Parish Council meetings, table tennis and upholstery, and for celebrations and fund raising events in the village.
Progress Power Information Update – February 2014
Responses to Progress Power's Information Update, from the County Council, District Council, Parish Councils, Common Concern and the Suffolk Preservation Society, can be read here.
From its initial meeting in early November 2013 Common Concern has expanded rapidly with many people from the surrounding parishes signing up to receive updates from the group about the gas fired power station being proposed by Progress Power for the Eye airfield.
The main aim of Common Concern is to keep the community aware of how this project is progressing and what we as residents can do to ensure that such a development would have a minimal impact on the area.
